Brand Inspiration
Inspired by natural curves and man-made curved designs in life.
Straight lines belong to humans, while curves belong to God.
I wanted to use “Miaomiao” (graceful elegance) to describe such beautiful curvature. By adding the female radical to form “Manmiao”, I avoided a generic brand name and infused human emotion. The feminine curve is part of nature’s beauty, and this also reflects my passion for curves as one would cherish a lover.
Moving forward, the brand will continue to draw inspiration from curves, exploring and showcasing the beauty of natural lines.
Design Inspiration
Flower petals and leaves are pure expressions of natural curves,
and one of the most familiar forms of curves to people.
For this universal symbolism,
they became the core material of my debut collection.
Yet neither the back nor the face of the cards reveals any specific flower type.
This is to break free from fixed definitions of flowers in reality —
from their standard colors, symbolic meanings, and scents —
revealing a purer form of curved beauty.
This is the origin of the product name: Nameless Flower.
The court cards across the four suits are designed around four floral groups. From Jack to King, they represent three stages: conception, creation, and completion.
Most digital artwork relies on flat colors and layers, which struggle to capture the vitality of flowers. For this reason, oil painting was chosen as the medium.
Even digital art can imitate brushstrokes, but it can never match the depth and expression of real hand-painting — especially in high-precision work.
The card back features an extremely rare technique: hand-painted oil on canvas + high-definition scanning, elevating the usual “oil-painting style” decks to genuine oil-painting decks.
The pips and typography mimic brush textures on canvas,
and both the card fronts and backs feature a natural linen texture.
In terms of craftsmanship, hot foil stamping preserves the subtlety and strength of real oil paintings. We used foil to brighten the curved edges and inner lines of the flowers, emphasizing the design theme while enhancing both aesthetics and handling. Most importantly, it avoids the harsh glare that often overwhelms other decks. With Manmiao, its elegance will speak for itself in your hands.
For the tuck cases:
The black and white boxes use different specialty textured papers.
Subtle patterns are printed with silver metallic ink,
and the sides feature deep debossing.
